A SINGLE MAN

I watched Tom Ford's "A Single Man" last night. Some people argue the movie's too slow, it resembles too much an elongated perfume commercial, but for me, it really embodies visual perfection. Also, big points for the Polish composer Abel Korzeniowski, whose music score adds even more drama to this sad story.

  3. I think that there is too much of Tom Ford in it. The precision considering tailoring, lighting, colours but also considering the way of telling the story is so Tom Ford like and because of that - a bit annoying for me. I'm cavilling of course probably because I had really great expectations.

  7. i agree. the trailer does kind of outgrow the film, but it's definitely something worth seeing - even if just for the images or abel's music :)

  9. I also think it was kind of slow, but it was so beautiful to see: every single detail was just perfect, from the styling of the students to the decoration of his house. And the music was essential!
